Celina Jaitly who has initiated separation process from her Austrian husband of 14 years, Peter Haag, and sought compensation of Rs 50 crore from him, has penned an emotional note on social media, describing her divorce as the ‘most turbulent storm’ of her life. The actress is also fighting for her brother who has gone missing after being detained in UAE. While she doesn’t have any support system right now, Jaitly called herself a soldier’s daughter, and said she has been raised on ‘courage, discipline, grit, resilience, fire & faith’.

The actress has been in headlines ever since reports of her approaching an Andheri court seeking divorce from husband Haag appeared. The actress levelled domestic violence allegations against her husband and called him a narcissist.

Meanwhile, it also emerged that it was Celina’s husband Peter who filed a divorce case first in an Austrian court earlier this year, accusing the actress for the breakdown of their marriage, Jaitly’s lawyer Niharika Karanjwala Misra told TOI.

The actress has been left all alone in the difficult time as she is fighting for the custody of her children – Winston, Viraaj, and Arthur, and also approached Ministry of External Affairs recently to seek information on her brother who has been detained in the UAE since September 2024.

‘I never thought there would come a day without all the pillars’: Celina

“In the middle of the strongest most turbulent storm of my life I never imagined I would spend fighting alone, without any parents, without any support system I never thought there would come a day without all the pillars on which the roof of my world once rested, my parents, my brother, my children, & the one who promised to stand by me, love me, care for me, & bear every trouble with me,” the actress wrote on social media.

While standing alone in this personal crisis, the actress said:

“Life stripped everything away. People I trusted walked away. Promises I believed in broke in silence. But the storm did not drown me. It delivered me. It tossed me out of violent waters onto warm sands. It forced me to meet the woman inside me who refuses to die. Because I am a soldier’s daughter. Raised on courage, discipline, grit, resilience, fire & faith,” she wrote.

The actress added how she had been taught to get up when the world wanted her to fall to fight and when her heart was breaking. She’s determined to fight all the challenges of her life with dignity, she wrote.

“My priority remains fighting for my soldier brother, fighting for my children’s love, fighting for my dignity,” her note added.

Celina’s allegations

In her petition, Jaitly has sought compensation of Rs 50 crore and described Haag as a “narcissist” and a “self-absorbed individual”. She also alleged emotional, physical, sexual and verbal abuse in her marriage. Jaitly said that Haag restricted her from working after their children’s birth, which affected her financial independence.

“Here is to the year that will not break me. Here is to the year I rise higher than the storm. Here is to the year I reclaim everything that was taken from,” she concluded her note.
