Kajol and Salman Khan both ruled the 90s Bollywood with their blockbusters and paired up for two of the biggest hits of the decade – Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, in the year 1998. The lead pair’s chemistry was loved by the audience in both the films and the dialogue – ‘Meri Anjali tumhari Anjali is zyada khoobsurat hai’, mouthed by Salman Khan in KKHH, is still fresh in the memory of 90s kids.

In the recently launched Prime Video talk show – Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, the 90s co-stars while recalling memories of working with each other, also talked about their first meeting. Salman Khan and Aamir Khan were the first guests on Kajol and Twinkle’s show and made several revelations in the premiere episode.

When Kajol called Salman ‘uncle’

Kajol reminded Salman Khan about their first meeting on the sets of her father Shomu Mukherjee’s film where she called her Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya co-star ‘uncle’.

“First time I met you was on the sets of ‘Sangdil Sanam’ on my dad’s film sets and I remember coming up to you (and say)- ‘Hi uncle, how are you…’,” said Kajol.

When Twinkle looked surprised and wondered why she said that, Kajol clarified that she was 12 and ‘it doesn’t matter now’.

How Salman reacted to the memory

Salman who smiled broadly at this sweet memory also talked about his proximity with Kajol’s father.

He recalled how he shared a close bond with Kajol’s father who used to visit his home twice a week.

“Just before he passed away, two days prior, he had come over. He arrived with the same energy, wearing his lungi, though he was going through a very difficult time and wasn’t feeling well.”

“He said, ‘Yaar, ek drink pila…’ I replied, ‘No, Shomu Da, ..I…’ But he insisted,, ‘I am going in a couple of days Pila de ek mereko.’ So, I made him a drink. And two days later, he was no more.” Salman said.

Shomu Mukherjee passed away in 2008 due to a cardiac arrest.
