After making a strong opening at the Box Office on October 21, Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romantic drama ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ witnessed a downward trend on its first non-festive weekday on Monday, October 27. Considering the extended Diwali weekend is over, the prospects of this romantic drama are looking a little bleak after analysing Box Office data. The film’s release coincided with Diwali and also the release of Maddock Films’ romantic horror-comedy Thamma which featured a star-studded cast comprising Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles.

‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ which translates to the obsession of a lover, stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa in the lead roles and was made on a moderate budget of Rs 25 crores. It opened to mixed-to-negative reviews although the actors were praised for their performances.

How has Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat fared at the Box Office?

Considering the fact that ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ was going toe-to-toe with heavy hitters such as Thamma, Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1, Dude and others, it is still impressive to see its performance at the theatres. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 9 crores on opening day, witnessing a fall in collections from the second day onwards and picking up again on Day 5.

On Day 7, it has managed to earn Rs 3.35 crores which is an early estimate as per Sacnilk. The movie collected Rs 44.85 crores domestically and overseas and worldwide figures are not currently available. It is shy just a little over 5 crores from passing the 50 crore milestone and while there is time yet, competition from other films out at the cinemas may give it some trouble. However, even at Rs 44.85 crores, it has become the highest earner of Harshvardhan Rane’s career and the fourth-highest of Sonam Bajwa’s.

On Monday Oct 27 2025, the film had an overall Hindi occupancy of 17.97%. Delhi-NCR had the highest number of screenings with 685 shows, followed by Mumbai with 318 shows, Ahmedabad with 273 shows and Surat with 187 shows. Overall footfall was poor with no city crossing 30%. Delhi-NCR had an occupancy of 15.50%, while Mumbai had 20.25%, Ahmedabad had 26.75% and Surat had 12.25%. The post Diwali haze and a wide range of movie options in various languages may be a cause for this, but with the weekend coming up Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat can hope for a better turn out.
