Dhurandhar box office collection day 1: The much-awaited Ranveer Singh film has smashed all predictions to open near the Rs 30 crore mark. In fact, Dhurandhar has even beaten Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara, which grossed Rs 21.9 crore on its opening day. After its Friday release, the Ranveer Singh-starrer remains only below Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.
Ending the year on a blockbuster note, Dhurandhar has also become Ranveer Singh’s highest opener of his career. The Aditya Dhar directorial beat day 1 records of ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Simmba’, some of Ranveer Singh’s biggest movies. While the historical drama earned Rs 24 crore, Rohit Shetty’s cop movie grossed Rs 20.72 crore, falling short of Dhurandhar’s first-day fire.
Dhurandhar collection day 1: Box office update
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar’s opening day smashed the Rs 25 crore mark with ease. After positive reviews across social media and amid the whiff of controversies, Ranveer Singh’s latest film collected Rs 27 crore on its opening day.
Dhurandhar’s day zero collections neared the Rs 10 crore mark and it witnessed a 301% jump in the final 48 hours before release. More than 2.6 lakh tickets were sold across the nation, as the pre-sales numbers became the fifth-highest in Bollywood this year. Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar managed to leave behind big grossers like Housefull 5, Raid 2, and even the most popular romantic-drama of 2025, Saiyaara.
Dhurandhar day 1: Occupancy report
Released on Friday, December 5, Dhurandhar had a healthy occupancy rate of 33.81% across India. With more than 4000 shows scheduled for the opening day, the night shows managed to fill over 55% seats. The actual occupancy rates contradicted the pre-sales numbers as Delhi NCR became the highest audience gatherer, followed by Mumbai. While the capital received 40% occupancy across 1371 shows, Mumbai filled nearly 35% seats from the 1024 screenings.
Also starring Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in key roles, there is huge speculation around the female lead, Sara Arjun. While some praise her performance, others question the screen time she shares with Ranveer Singh. However, Dhurandhar has received a shower of positive reviews online as the race to the Rs 50 crore mark continues over the weekend.
