Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has opened to a thunderous response with the audience hailing the film as total ‘paisa vasool’ and terming Ranveer’s performance as his career best.

One of the biggest films of the year, directed by Aditya Dhar, seems to be living up to the massive expectations as the film’s domestic earnings stood at Rs 6 crore, hours after it released on Friday, December 5. According to Sacnilk, the film’s budget is Rs 220 crore, making its break-even target unlikely to be achieved. But considering the response, things may turn out in film’s favour and a strong word of mouth can help Dhurandhar become a massive hit.

Dhurandhar Part 2 release

Dhurandhar, that draws inspiration from Kandahar hijack, is made in two parts, with the first part, already released on December 5 to a grand reception. Meanwhile, at the end of the film’s credit, the release date of the Part 2 has been unveiled, which has added to the excitement of the fans.

Dhurandhar 2 is set to release on Eid 2026 and the film’s exact release date is March 19, 2026. The Ranveer Singh-Sara Arjun starrer is set to clash with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups and Ajay Devgn’s Dhamaal 4. If the first part manages to sustain interest among audiences, the second part will already have an edge over the others.

The saga continues

Dhurandhar is set against the backdrop of the IC-814 hijacking in 1999 and the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. In its fictional world, India’s Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajay Sanyal, who crafts a daring and indomitable mission to infiltrate and dismantle a powerful terrorist network operating out of Pakistan, recruits a 20-year-old boy from Punjab, held captive for committing a revenge-driven crime. Sanyal decides to mould him into a weapon capable of penetrating Karachi’s ruthless underworld mafia.

According to reports, the final scene gives a glimpse into the much-awaited sequel packed with revenge, intense action sequences, high-stakes missions, and unfinished business.

Meanwhile, netizens have expressed their excitement over the next part. The festive release improves prospects of the film doing well. “Super excited for next part of the revenge,” wrote a user. “Dhurandhar is just too good. Can’t wait for Dhurandhar 2,” another wrote.

Another is worried about the film clashing with two big releases on Eid. “Not sure why this date is selected when there are already 2 movies releasing there,” a comment read.
