Apple TV+’s The Studio topped the winners list with 9 trophies on the first night of the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday, September 6 (US time). The annual two-day awards night will continue on Sunday, a weekend ahead of the much-awaited 77th Primetime Emmys set to take place on September 14.
Although not televised live, the Creative Arts Emmy ceremony was held at the Peacock Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. After The Studio, The Penguin followed next with eight big wins, while Apple TV+’s sister show Severance came in third with six trophies. Disney+’s Andor and Netflix’s Arcane and Love Death + Robots shared the next spot with four wins. Prime Video’s The Boys and Netflix’s Bridgerton took home three awards. Finally, HBO Max’s The Pitt and Netflix’s Adolescence won two titles each.
Start-studded presenters list for the first night include Jamie Lee Curtis, Nikki Boyer, Brittany Snow, Noah Wyle, Kelvin Yu, Gwendoline Christies, Rhenzy Feliz, Shawn Hatosy, Ali Ahn, Kevin Miles, Maya Rudolph, Theo Rossi, Craig Robinson, Anika Noni Rose and many others.
Rudolph in particular kicked off the celebrations calling the Creative Arts Emmy Awards the “real Emmys.” Honouring the hard work that goes into the birth of TV spectacles, she added, “This is the Emmys for the people who make all the magic happen … this is a room full of talented baddies.”
