Dangal’s Zaira Wasim can’t seem to catch a break on social media. Whether she’s apologising or criticising, she can’t keep everyone happy. And now, it looks like even posts of the young star’s family won’t be spared. A post shared by Zaira’s mother Zarqa from 2014 (when Zaira was only 13) has now caught the attention of Twitter. In it, Zarqa shared a Keep Calm meme, but its anti-India sentiments has Twitter seething, according to a report in DNA. The meme reads, “Keep Calm and Defeat India,” while Zarqa had captioned it, “Dil dil Pakistan.” The hashtag #ZarqaWasim began trending on Twitter, along with scathing comments about how the star should leave the country.

Of course, holding a 16-year-old actress accountable for what her mother says seems a bit ludicrous, but it looks like Zaira has become the lightening rod for anti-India wrath. Perhaps the one bright spot in all of this is that Zaira deleted her social media accounts after being hounded by haters in recent months. In this way, she took the easiest way out from facing unnecessary criticism from e-vigilantes. Check out the Twitter reactions to her latest social media scandal below:

In January, the Dangal actress allegedly received death threats for meeting Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. Her apology threw her into the centre of a national debate, despite her requests to be left alone. The second time over, Zaira lashed out at Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel for comparing the hijab to a cage. In both cases, Zaira received equal amounts of support and criticism. But clearly, the actress’ detractors are far more active with the effort being put in to unearth three year old posts of her relatives.
