Coolie Box Office Collection Day 20: Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna Akkineni’s much-awaited action thriller Coolie has completed 20 days at the box office. The film, which opened with a bang, is holding steady but now needs a strong push to reach the Rs 300 crore mark in India.

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 20

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Coolie earned Rs 1.10 crore on its 20th day, taking its total net collection to Rs 281.30 crore. The movie saw an overall 15 per cent occupancy in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. The morning shows had 13.16 per cent occupancy, afternoon shows 14.88 per cent, evening shows 17.16 per cent, and night shows 14.78 per cent.

The film started its theatrical journey with a strong first week, earning Rs 229.65 crore. The second week added Rs 41.85 crore, but collections slowed down in the following days. From Day 16 to Day 20, Coolie earned Rs 1.7 crore, Rs 2.8 crore, Rs 3.1 crore, Rs 1.1 crore, and Rs 1.10 crore respectively, showing a slow but steady momentum at the box office.

The film’s momentum in its third week will be crucial if it hopes to cross Rs 300 crore domestically. Experts say a strong weekend or festival push could help, but at the current pace, it looks challenging.

Coolie story, cast and more

Coolie tells the story of Deva (Rajinikanth), a former union leader who sets out to find the truth behind the sudden death of his close friend Rajasekhar, played by Sathyaraj. His search for justice pits him against the ruthless gangster Simon (Nagarjuna) and his brutal ally Dayal (Soubin Shahir). Packed with high-voltage action sequences, emotional drama, and Rajinikanth’s trademark screen presence, the film has struck a chord with audiences across languages. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s stylish direction and the film’s nostalgic title, borrowed from Amitabh Bachchan’s 1983 hit, have only added to its mass appeal.

After 20 days, Coolie has proved to be a strong performer at the box office, crossing Rs 280 crore. While the collections have slowed, fans continue to flock to theaters, drawn by Rajinikanth’s larger-than-life presence and the action-packed storyline. The coming days will be crucial to see if the movie can push past the Rs 300 crore milestone and cement its status as one of the top-grossing Tamil films of the year.

Coolie’s future box office estimates

Crossing Rs 280 crore in India and over Rs 500 crore worldwide is no small feat. But with new releases hitting theatres and the weekday slump setting in, Coolie may find it tough to add significantly more to its tally in the coming weeks.

Still, there’s no denying that Rajinikanth has once again reaffirmed his status as the ‘Thalaivar’ of the box office, delivering one of 2025’s biggest blockbusters.
