In a significant legal victory, film producer Prernaa Arora has been ordered to receive a Rs 50 lakh deposit back from Pooja Films by the Bombay High Court. This decision, issued on May 16, 2024, marks a resolution to a long-standing financial dispute dating back to 2018.
The conflict originated from a financial agreement gone awry, with Prernaa Arora’s company, KriArj Entertainment, and Pooja Films clashing over the production and financial details of certain film projects. Arora had made a deposit of Rs 50 lakhs as part of the deal, which became a contentious point in their fallout.
The Bombay High Court’s ruling not only mandates the return of the deposit to Arora but also signifies a broader vindication for her amidst a period marked by professional and personal turbulence. Arora, known for her work on films like “Rustom” and “Pari,” expressed immense relief and gratitude towards the judiciary for upholding justice.
In her statement following the verdict, Arora emphasized the ordeal she and her family endured due to the prolonged legal battle and the negative media attention it attracted. She highlighted how the case’s resolution restored her faith in the legal system and encouraged others to seek the truth before jumping to conclusions based on sensationalised reports, TimesNow reported.
This ruling comes as Arora plans her comeback in the film industry, having announced two major projects: “Savera,” a film starring a prominent Bollywood couple directed by Suresh Krissna, and “AIKIDO,” an OTT production featuring South Indian star Nidhhi Agerwal.
