K-pop sensation BLACKPINK is reportedly poised to make its much-coveted comeback this summer. The quartet comprising Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa last released their top-charting studio album “Born Pink” in September 2022. Although its been crickets on the BLACKPINK group comeback front since then, each member has walked the solo path and continued experimenting with their one-woman artistic persona.
In recent memory itself, all four BLACKPINK members released their solo debut albums. Starting with Rose’s full-length album “Rosie” in December 2024, her bandmate Jisoo came forth with her first-ever solo EP “Amortage” on Valentine’s Day. Thereafter, Lisa followed suit in February 2025 and dropped her solo LP “Alter Ego,” with Jennie completing the square with her lengthy solo offering “Ruby” in March 2025.
Just this week, the K-pop girl group again made trendy headlines as Lisa made her first solo outing at Coachella on Friday while her bandmates Rose and Jisoo fangirled hard in the crowd. Following the Lalisa hit-maker’s “Elastigirl” performance, Jennie is slated to grace the festival’s Outdoor Theatre on Sunday, April 13.

BLACKPINK new album release date confirmed?
Amid all the social media chatter surrounding BLACKPINK’s Coachella outing, reports of the group’s highly anticipated comeback have also hit the deck. According to K-media outlet TenAsia, insiders are raving about the band’s 2025 album preparations. Their new album’s release date is tentatively scheduled for June as the members are believed to be adjusting their solo schedules for reported album preparation.
The report stated, “The BLACKPINK members have begun adjusting their schedules for recording and filming in preparation for the new album. The album will be released by June at the latest,” as per multiple music industry insiders.
BLACKPINK’s comeback reports have further intensified buzz around the group’s name after Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa confirmed their BLACKPINK 2025 world tour, which is slated to commence in July. In light of the world tour announcement, it is highly likely that the girl group would roll out a brand-new musical release as a common practice.

Jisoo also previously confirmed BLACKPINK comeback 2025
Ahead of the “Amortage” album release, Jisoo’s reassuringly confirmed that all members of the group would be reuniting soon. Appearing on the talk show Salon Drip 2 in February, she said, “We’re planning to put out an album and also go on tour. We’ll be coming back as four this year.”
In the K-pop world, such affirmations are deemed the holy grail especially given the industry track record of fuelling anxieties surrounding full group comebacks after band members part ways with their original labels. Although the group’s name is still contracted with YG Entertainment, the four members officially backed out of extending their individual contracts with the company in 2023 in pursuit of solo activities they had control over.
