One such remarkable movie is Mari Selvaraj’s 2025 release Bison Kaalamaadan which made its rounds at the cinemas during Diwali and is soon set to make its OTT debut. According to a Business Today report, the streaming rights for Bison Kaalamaadan were bought by OTT giant Netflix which also purchased the rights to other Tamil movies like Kaantha, Dude, Good Bad Ugly and Dragon among many more. Bison in particular is supposed to make its streaming debut on November 21 2025 according to Economic Times though the date is still tentative as Netflix hasn’t officially made an announcement.
It will likely be released in several other dubbed versions as well with popular language options ranging from Hindi to Telugu to Malayalam as is the norm with Netflix. While there may be a slight delay due to a lack of official confirmation, fans of Dhruv Vikram can hope for a release date which isn’t too far off from what has been reported. Netflix’s purchase of Bison Kaalamaadan’s streaming rights is set to take the compelling sports drama to a global audience.

Based on the real life story of kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan, The movie is set against the backdrop of 90s caste-based violence and district feuds.
The movie’s synopsis on IMDB reads as: “A young man fights to overcome violence plaguing his village and succeed as a professional kabaddi player.” The film deals with issues of caste-based brutality and discrimination, carefully capturing the come up of the kabaddi player and his eventual triumph as India’s representative at the Asian games. The feature has since collected Rs 65.25 crore worldwide at the Box Office with an Indian net collection of Rs 46.85 crore marking it a success.
