According to ETimes, the billionaire will be seen alongside Smriti Irani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 in an elaborate three-episode sequence. Irani is reprising the lead role of Tulsi Virani in the second season of her iconic 2000 show, marking a comeback after over two decades. The Etimes report mentions that Gates will be seen virtually in the show as the track would unfold in the form of a video call between the businessman and philanthropist Bill Gates and Smriti Irani’s character Tulsi Virani, spanning around three episodes.
The track aims to create and promote awareness about the health of pregnant women and newborns, the causes Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation actively focusses on.
“The storyline focuses on creating and improving awareness about the health of pregnant women and newborns. Since the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation actively works on these causes, the collaboration came about naturally. Smriti wanted to use the show as a platform to promote health and social awareness through storytelling,” a source close to the show told TOI.
