Battle of Galwan release date: Salman Khan celebrated his 60th birthday today. After three decades in the industry, his newest film, ‘Battle of Galwan’, is all set for a 2026 release. However, industry critics opine that it is likely to give stiff competition to Alia Bhatt’s Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail.
In a post on social media, industry insider Taran Adarsh revealed that Alpha producer Aditya Chopra has decided to postpone its release date to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan. Earlier scheduled for 17 April 2026, the updated date of release is yet to be announced. Estimates suggest that it is likely that, given the insight, the release date for Battle of Galwan has been planned for a post-Eid box office run.
All about Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’
The upcoming film is one of many war films set to start 2026 off with a powerful bang. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the maker of Shootout at Lokhandwala, it is headlined by Salman Khan. It emphasises the hand-to-hand combat used in the 2020 India-China clash in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley.
This patriotic movie revolves around the real-life story of Colonel B Santosh Babu, immortalised by Salman Khan in the movie. He will be joined by Chitrangadha Singh, Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, Harshil Shah, Heera Sohall, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Vipin Bhardwaj on screen. It shows the tough battle that required the valiant soldiers to spend 25 days in freezing waters and extremely harsh conditions, which became a test for human survival.

Produced by SKF, the teaser is yet to be released, revealing the official release date of ‘Battle of Galwan’. It would mark the comeback of Salman Khan after Sikander in 2025, a collaboration with AR Murugadoss.
