Barack Obama’s favourite music: Former President of the United States Barack Obama shared his list of favourite books, movies, and music as a part of his long-running annual tradition on social media. Earlier this morning, Obama shared a list of 30 songs that topped his charts. From Lady Gaga to K-pop girl band Blackpink, he has heard it all this year.
An active user on social media, his post read, “As 2025 comes to a close, I’m continuing a tradition that I started during my time in the White House: sharing my annual lists of favourite books, movies, and music. I hope you find something new to enjoy.” In no particular order, he listed Olivia Dean’s ‘Nice to Each Other’ at the top of the list.

From Olivia Dean’s Nice to Each Other to Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra and Everything Is Recorded’s Never Felt Better, the list also features Sampha and Florence Welch. It moves through Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s Luther, Gunna’s Just Say Dat, Burna Boy and Travis Scott’s Tatata, and Chappell Roan’s The Giver.
The mix widens with BLACKPINK’s Jump, Mora and De La Rose’s Aurora, with Victoria Noelle’s In the Name of Love. Returning to the classics as Obama remains true to his generation, Bruce Springsteen’s Faithless, Laufey’s Silver Lining, I’m With Her’s Ancient Light, and Ganavya’s Pasayadan were also on the list.

Chance the Rapper and Jamila Woods’ No More Old Men, Jay Som featuring Jim Adkins on Float, deserved the special mention. Olamidé and collaborators’ 99, Jason Isbell’s Bury Me, Alex Warren’s Ordinary, Lil Naay and Myke Towers’ Pending, were among Obama’s top songs of the year. Stacey Kent’s I Wish I Could Go Travelling Again, Khamari’s Sycamore Tree, Rosalía’s Sexo, Violencia y Llantas, and Kacy Hill’s Please Don’t Cry played on repeat at the Obama household, it seems.
The list ended with Drake’s Nokia, The Beths’ Metal, ROE’s Stay, Xavi and Manuel Turizo’s En Privado, and finally Obongjayar’s Not in Surrender.
