SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster Baahubali is returning to theatres, but this time with a twist! Baahubali: The Epic, is a special re-edited and digitally re-mastered version that combines Part 1 and Part 2 into one long continuous cut. This is the first time in Indian cinema that a two-part film has been merged into a single theatrical release.
On Sunday, the makers dropped a video of Prabhas, who hinted at the dates in his signature laid-back style. He first announced that the film would be in theatres on October 31, then paused and added, “I think,” after which a text confirmed that international premieres begin October 29, a full two days before the India release.

Huge response even before release
Even though this is not a new film, the re-release is already earning big. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, advance bookings across the world have reportedly crossed Rs 5 crore, with North America alone crossing 200,000 dollars in pre-sales. Trade trackers say this kind of hype for a re-release is extremely rare and shows how strong the Baahubali fandom still is.
Why fans are excited
The remastered cut brings back the entire original cast: Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan. With this re-release, fans will now be able to watch the full journey, from Amarendra to Mahendra, without a break between films. Trade experts believe this gives the story a fresh emotional punch, especially the dramatic build-up to the famous mystery, “Kattappa ne Baahubali ko kyun maara?”
Can a re-release make box office history again?
With a national release set for October 31, industry insiders feel Baahubali: The Epic might become the highest-earning re-release ever in India. Some say it might even end up breaking its own previous records, something that has never happened before for any Indian film franchise.
What began as a cult moment in 2015 and peaked in 2017 seems ready to start a new chapter. If the early numbers are any hint, Baahubali could once again take over theatres and box office collections one more time.
