Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Baby’ box office collections at the end of the third week are pegged at around Rs 92 crore in the domestic circuit alone. Along with more than Rs 10 crore it has generated from the international markets, ‘Baby’ gross box office  collections have now surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark as per latest available data – the film is unlikely to hit the three-figure mark within India.

Though a good film from all accounts, ‘Baby’ box office collections, however, have not been as expected. Running in its third week, the film continues to hold the audience’s attention despite new releases, though critical acclaim has failed to translate into big box office business. As the movie nears the fourth weekend, collections have, in fact, fallen to lakhs despite positive words of mouth and now seems unlikely to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the domestic market. According to Manoj Desai of G7 Cinemas, “Baby is a wonderful film, but sadly it isn’t doing well at our theatres. Currently the occupancy is about 50-55 per cent.”

While Akshaye Rathi, exhibitor and distributor, commented, “Baby has sustained well and has continued to have limited number of shows all over.”
