The Financial Times Masters in Management (MiM) Rankings 2025 have been released, featuring the top 100 global institutes offering masters in business management programs. University of St Gallen in Switzerland has claimed the number one spot, followed by HEC Paris and Insead in France at second and third positions. Nova School of Business and Economics in Portugal and Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management in China share the fourth position.

Indian Institutes Make Strong Showing

This year, 11 Indian B-Schools have been featured in the FT MiM Rankings 2025. Among them, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore secured the top position among Indian institutes with a global rank of 28, followed by IIM Ahmedabad at 34. Other notable rankings include SPJIMR at 35, IIM Calcutta at 41, and IIM Lucknow at 57.

“The FT rankings are based on a series of metrics including salaries and pay rises for alumni three years after completing their courses, value for money, career progress and aims achieved, as well as international diversity and gender balance of students and faculty,” the report noted.

Global Trends Affect Rankings

Chinese and Indian business schools gained in the ranking from adjustments to alumni salaries for international purchasing power parity, although their intake of students from abroad remains relatively low. China, which traditionally sent the most foreign students to the UK and other Western countries, has seen a sharp drop in these numbers following the Covid-19 pandemic. Geopolitical tensions and domestic policies aimed at retaining students locally have also influenced this trend.

The alumni gender pay gap widened again this year, with men earning on average 15 per cent more than women in 2025 after narrowing the difference to 13 per cent in 2024 for the first time in several years.
