In recent years, girl students have consistently outperformed boys in the UP Board exam results, continuing to lead in pass percentages year after year. The 2024 results further reinforced this trend, with girls securing a 7.35% higher pass rate than boys. This follows the 2023 results, where girls recorded a remarkable 93.34% pass rate, and the 2022 outcome, where they achieved 91.69% compared to 85.25% among boys. The pattern of girls outperforming boys has been a steady feature in the board results, evident in earlier years such as 2020, 2019, and 2018, highlighting their consistent academic excellence.

In 2025, the UP Board witnessed 25.77 lakh students appearing for the Intermediate (Class 12) exams, while 25.56 lakh students took the High School (Class 10) exams. To accommodate the large number of candidates, the board conducted the exams in two daily shifts. The morning session was held from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM, followed by the evening session, which ran from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.

To successfully clear the Class 10 and 12 UP Board exams, students are required to score a minimum of 33% in each subject. However, if a student falls just short, securing marks like 31 or 32, the board may award grace marks as per its established guidelines. This provision is aimed at offering students a fair chance to pass without compromising academic standards.

The board will release Class 12 results for all streams, Science, Commerce, and Arts, simultaneously. Additionally, a list of the top 10 rank holders and their marks is likely to be published at the time of the announcement.

As per official data from the UP Board, a total of 55,25,308 candidates registered for the exams last year. This included 29,47,311 students for the high school (Class 10) exams and 25,77,997 for the intermediate (Class 12) exams. To handle the massive number of answer sheets, 94,802 examiners were appointed to evaluate approximately 1.76 crore answer sheets for Class 10, while 52,295 examiners assessed around 1.25 crore answer sheets for Class 12.

Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), will formally announce the Class 10 and 12 results at a press conference on Friday, April 25.

Rank 1: Shubh Chapra from Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College, Charkhari, Mahoba district with an impressive score of 489/500.

Rank 2: Saurabh Gangwar of SVM IC, Bisalpur, Pilibhit, secured 486/500.

Rank 3: Anamika from CH S Singh IC, Jaswant Nagar, Etawah, also scored 486/500.

To pass the Class 10 and 12 exams, students must secure at least 33% in each subject. In cases where a student narrowly misses the passing mark—such as scoring 31 or 32—the board may grant grace marks in accordance with its standard policies to help them qualify.
