Difference between city slip and admit card

Candidates must note that the city intimation slip is different from the UGC NET admit card. While the city slip only mentions the exam city, the admit card will include complete details such as the exam centre address, reporting time and important instructions. The admit card is expected to be released three to four days before the exam date.

Once the admit card is issued, candidates are advised to carefully check all the details mentioned on it. Important information such as the candidate’s name, date of birth, application number, category, subject, test city, photograph and signature should be verified. In case of any error or mismatch, candidates should immediately contact the concerned authorities.

UGC NET December 2025: Documents required to sit in exam

On the day of the examination, candidates are required to carry a printed copy of the UGC NET admit card along with the self-declaration form. They must also bring a valid photo identity card, a ballpoint pen, an extra passport-size photograph, personal hand sanitiser and a transparent water bottle, as per the exam-day guidelines. The city intimation slip is not required to be carried to the exam centre.

Meanwhile, NTA has clarified that the UGC NET exam scheduled for December 31 will be conducted in a single shift. The examination on that day will take place from 9 am to 12 noon, and no second shift will be held.
