Thakur Global Business School, Mumbai, managed by Zagdu Singh Charitable Trust claims to provide multiple specialised PG diploma programmes in marketing, digital marketing, finance and HR and operations under the one year PGDM Programme. A  strong industry engagement has been integrated into the  curriculum, ensuring that  courses are aligned with industry needs.   Certification programmes and value-added courses which  provide students with practical skills and knowledge are also offered, Nilesh Gokhale, Director-in-charge, Thakur Global Business School, told FE Education. “Our three-way mentoring system, involving mentoring by alumni, faculty and industry professionals, enriches the learning experience and provides students with invaluable insights and guidance,” he added. 

The institute further claimed that  the average duration of PGDM programmes is two years, equivalent to an MBA and it charges   a fee of about  Rs 5.5 lakh per year, thereby a total of about  Rs 10-12v lakh for the entire course. This fee covers various aspects of education, excluding hostel facilities. The institute claims to have  around 120 students per batch. The batch size may vary slightly based on the specialisation. “We aim to expand our industry-academic collaborations and facilitate more real-world projects and experiential learning for students. We want to develop an Indian way of delivering management education that caters to the dynamic needs of our country and the world,” he added.  

Moreover, as per the institute it has a  placement rate of more than 95% and the average remuneration package earned by students is around Rs 6.5 lakh. “At our institute, we rely heavily on industry connections for placement opportunities. Our industry engagement goes beyond placements; it’s deeply integrated into our curriculum. We consistently aim for 100% placements. Last year, we were fortunate to achieve 100% placements. Our placement statistics are not inflated, they reflect the actual achievements of our students,” he explained. 

While  the institute does not offer any direct scholarships but helps students to get government scholarships. For government scholarships, it claims to follow the guidelines set by the Association of Indian Management Institutions (AIMA) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). “Students can apply for such scholarships based on these guidelines and we consider their applications,” he said. 

Additionally, the institute claims that incorporating AI and ML into curriculum is its top priority with an aim to ensure that students are not just learning about AI and ML but are prepared to implement these technologies effectively in their future careers. It further claims to have a three-pronged approach. First, it invites industry experts to deliver lectures on AI and ML applications. “Secondly, we integrate AI and ML topics into our courses, ensuring that students are exposed to emerging technologies. Finally, we provide students with value-added certifications in areas such as digital marketing, financial modelling, HR analytics and fintech, all of which include components related to AI and ML,” Gokhale said. 

Further, the institute claims to be working towards nurturing critical thinking and innovation among students. “We want to be known for our contributions to critical thinking, research and fostering innovation among our students. We aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry even further and continue providing our students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges of the ever-evolving business landscape,” Gokhale said.
