Queen’s University Belfast, a research-intensive institution in the United Kingdom (UK), is now accepting registrations for international students to participate in the Queen’s University 2024 Summer School. Scheduled from June 17 to July 5, 2024, this three-week programme aims to offer an enriching experience, inviting students to delve into the diverse facets of Northern Ireland’s history, culture, politics, environment and socio-economics, according to an official release.

Applications for the Queen’s 2024 Summer School will be accepted until March 22, 2024. More than just an academic pursuit, this programme is a journey into the histories, locales and future aspirations of Belfast. Participants will engage with local communities, explore political, historical, and cultural sites and gain valuable insights into the dynamic fabric of the region. Accommodations, conveniently situated just a 15-minute walk from Queen’s main campus, provide students with a firsthand taste of life in Belfast, the release mentioned.

The initial week of the course encompasses core content and is mandatory for all summer programme students. They will delve into the interconnected social, political and historical realities of present-day Belfast, exploring multiple community perspectives in Northern Ireland. Alongside academic lectures and workshops by world-leading experts from Queen’s, students will visit culturally and historically significant sites in Belfast and Derry-Londonderry, as per the release.

In the second and third weeks of the Summer School, participants can customize their experience by choosing from a variety of programmes, including Storytelling, Irish Studies, Identity and Intergroup Relations in Divided Societies and Leadership programmes, it added.
