The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is likely to conduct NEET PG in August, sources have informed The Indian Express. Although there is no official update on the exam date yet, Dr. Abhijat Sheth, President of NBE, recently mentioned that the new date for NEET PG will be announced “hopefully before next weekend.”

Dr. Sheth stated that a plan has been submitted to the Ministry of Education (MoE) for approval, and the exam date will soon be communicated to students. “We are hoping to conclude the process in two months,” he added.

Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding major entrance examinations in the country. The NBE postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Postgraduate (NEET PG) on June 22, just a few hours before the exam was scheduled to take place.

In a press release, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) announced that the NEET PG exam has been deferred as a “precautionary measure” in light of recent allegations against the integrity of competitive examinations in the country.

NEET PG is the national-level entrance examination for admission to postgraduate courses at all medical colleges across the country.

Notably, the center has established a high-level panel, headed by former ISRO chairperson K. Radhakrishnan, to ensure the transparent, smooth, and fair conduct of examinations.

These two significant decisions come as the NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, faces pressure due to alleged irregularities in entrance and recruitment examinations.
