The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the postponement of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2024 examination due to the upcoming general election in 2024. In a notification issued on Wednesday, the Authority stated that the medical entrance test for disabled candidates, originally scheduled for April 25 and April 26, has been postponed.

The UGCET 2024, an undergraduate exam conducted on April 18 and 19 in two shifts, has allowed candidates to raise objections against questions until April 27.

The exam saw several modifications, including the extension of registration and fee payment until April 12 for candidates who initially missed the deadline. Some applicants solely opted for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) and didn’t apply for the CET for engineering, leading to the exam authority’s decision not to issue admit cards to such candidates.

KEA had previously announced the provision to edit the application form after the entrance exam. Registration for KCET 2024 began on January 10, with a brief unavailability of the application form from January 13-17. The deadline for registration was extended to February 20, and the application window reopened from March 12-15 and then again on March 30.

The exam, initially slated for April 20-21, was rescheduled to April 18-19 due to scheduling conflicts with NDA exams.
