The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the category-wise top 20 percentile cut-off marks for the 2023 and 2024 board exams today. This top 20 percentile criterion helps determine a candidate’s eligibility for BTech admissions. To be eligible, candidates must either rank within the top 20 percentile of their respective boards or qualify for the JEE Advanced exam.
JoSAA counselling facilitates admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and some government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs). Approximately 15 lakh candidates from JEE Main 2024 are now eligible to compete for around 42,000 seats in the NIT+ system. This year, JoSAA will conduct a total of five rounds of seat allocation, with the registration and choice filling process starting today.
JoSAA 2024 Counselling: 75 percent aggregate criteria
Candidates must have completed their Class 12 board exams with a minimum of five subjects and an overall aggregate score of at least 75 percent. There are relaxations for candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Person with Disabilities (PwD) categories, requiring a minimum aggregate score of 65 percent.
JoSAA 2024: Category-wise top 20 percentile cut-off marks
The minimum marks needed to be in the top 20 percentile differ depending on the educational board.
In 2024, the cut-off scores are as follows: 417 for the general category, 414 for OBC and NCL, 391 for SC, and 372 for ST.
Indian School Certificate (ISC)
In ISC, the cut-off for general category in 2024 is 444, for OBC, 431 while for SC and ST it us 415 and 375 respectively.
Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh
For the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, the cut-off for the general category in 2024 is 940, for OBC it is 916 while for SC and ST it is 875 and 849 respectively.
Jharkhand Academic Council
For Jharkhand Academic Council, the cut-off for general category is 366, for OBC it is 374, while for SC and ST, it is 354 and 349 respectively.
Board of School Education, Uttarakhand
For the Board of School Education, Uttarakhand, the cut-off for general category is 383, for OBC, it is 363 and for SC and ST it is 357 and 370.
