Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has initiated the registration process for its undergraduate and postgraduate courses, requiring interested students to first undergo an entrance test. The deadline for online registration for the entrance test is March 30, 2024, with the test scheduled to take place starting April 25. The university has announced that the schedule for the admission test for the PhD programme for the 2024-25 session will be notified separately, according to an official statement.

Registration for admission at JMI can be completed at jmicoe.in. Each candidate is permitted to submit only one form for each programme or group of programmes (with combined entrance test). The university warns that multiple submissions of forms for the same program by a candidate may lead to rejection.

For most undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the university will consider marks from CUET, JEE and other national-level tests. Online admission forms for courses where tests will be conducted by JEE, NATA and CUET will be available ten days after the respective agencies declare results, as stated by the university. Admission to all eligible candidates for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by various faculties and centers of JMI will be based on merit determined by the JMI entrance test, except for BTech, BArch, BDS and a few other courses, the statement mentioned.

The entrance test will be followed by an interview and/or other components as determined by the associated department. Candidates scoring less than 30% in the descriptive part of the entrance test (where applicable) will not be shortlisted for interview and admission. Additionally, there will be a negative marking system of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in objective type or multiple-choice questions across all university programmes.

Candidates scoring less than 15% in objective type or multiple-choice questions will not be shortlisted for interview and admission. For B.Tech, admission will be granted based on merit according to the final ranks of candidates in JEE Main 2024. For BArch, admission will be based on merit according to the final ranks of candidates in NATA 2024 conducted by the Council of Architecture. Admission to the BDS programme will be determined by merit in NEET 2024, it added.
