JEE Advance 2017 Topper: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras announced the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)- Advance 2017 Results on June 11, 2017. Around 2.20 lakh top scorers from the JEE Main 2017 were given a chance to sit for JEE Advanced examination this year, however, only 1.7 lakh candidates registered for the exam that was conducted on May 21st, 2017. While Sarvesh Mehtani from Panchkula, Chandigarh secured the All India Rank (AIR) 1; Akshat Chugh from Pune, Maharashtra came second and Ananye Agarwal from Delhi came third.

In a magnificent achievement, Jatin Lamba whose father owns a flour mill has secured a spot for himself among the top 50 in the toppers list. Jatin has 3 brothers and his father’s made sure that his economic condition did not come in the way of his children’s academic development. Beating all odds, Jatin came 33rd in IIT-JEE and he also got 97 per cent in CBSE class 12th board examinations. In order to make his father proud and to crack the examination in his first go, Jatin did not use his mobile phone for one whole year. According to Aaj Tak, Jatin credits his success to the struggle that his mother and father had to go through for him. Jatin says he wants to pursue computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
