The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) has re-appointed Archana Shukla as the director-in-charge, a position she held previously. Shukla, the most senior professor at IIM Lucknow, will serve as director-in-charge until a permanent director is appointed, as stipulated by Clause (9) of the IIM Act 2017. This decision was made by N. Chandrasekaran, the chairperson of the IIM Lucknow Board of Governors, according to an official statement.

Shukla specializes in Human Resource Management at IIML, leveraging more than 30 years of teaching and research experience. A graduate of IIT Kanpur with a PhD in Psychology, she previously chaired the Dr Ishwar Dayal Chair for Futuristic Issues in the Behavioral Sciences from 2015-2017. 

Furthermore, Shukla has authored a book, numerous papers and several case studies in areas such as knowledge management, organisational adaptation and organisational structure.

Established in 1984, IIM Lucknow is the fourth IIM to be founded in India, following IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangalore. It holds the distinction of being the first IIM to introduce a two-year full-time MBA programme in Sustainable Management, along with offering a full-time MBA programme in Agri-Business Management.
