Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last to apply for open and distance learning (ODL) till February 29 for the January admission cycle 2024. Interested candidates can apply through the official website, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

Here is the step-by-step guide for students to apply for ODL courses at IGNOU:

  • Go to the official IGNOU website — onlinerr.ignou.ac.in.
  • Click on the ‘new registration’ button.
  • Choose your courses carefully.
  • Fill in all the details and pay online.
  • Submit the form and save it for later.

The registration for January 2024 started on December 5 and was supposed to end on January 29. But they’ve extended it twice, first till February 15, and now till February 29. If you’re having trouble applying online, you can go to the regional centre for help with your account or update your email or phone number.

Application open for Fixed Learner Intake Programmes

Additionally, the registration window is also open for Fixed Learner Intake Programmes (FLIP) and interested candidates in FLIP, can apply on a different website: ignouflip.samarth.edu.in.

When you apply, you can choose up to 3 places where you’d like to study. For FLIP courses, you’ll have to pay a registration fee of Rs 400. If they choose you, they’ll send you an email, and then you’ll need to pay for the course.

To apply for IGNOU’s January 2024 ODL programs, you’ll need to upload some documents:

  • A photo that’s less than 100 KB.
  • Your signature, less than 100 KB.
  • Your educational documents, less than 200 KB.
  • Any experience certificates, also less than 200 KB.
  • If you’re from SC, ST, or OBC, you’ll need a certificate for that too, less than 200 KB.
