Uplers, an Ahmedabad based hiring platform claims to have focused on connecting Indian talents with global clients. This has allowed the platform to create  international opportunities  in two key dimensions, claimed the firm. The first dimension involves collaborating directly with global clients, while the second dimension revolves around working in a remote setup. The platform claims that it offers two learning and development courses which are designed to empower individuals for global success, Jaymin Bhuptani, CEO, Uplers, told FE Education. “We’ve noticed a market gap in India for helping talent gain the skills they need to succeed globally, including working with international clients, understanding different cultures and excelling in cross-cultural interactions. We aim to empower individuals to excel in remote work, going beyond traditional education to prepare them for success in this field,” he said.

The two learning and development courses offered by Uplers are Cross-Cultural Communication Skills and Remote Readiness. Through these programmes the platform aims to enable individuals to effectively engage with clients from various cultural backgrounds. The goal is to prepare its own workforce for optimal performance in remote work settings. This comprehensive training encompasses essential elements like proficient time management, seamless virtual collaboration, and mastery of digital tools. “As our talents acquire these competencies, they become well-equipped to enhance their productivity and deliver outstanding outcomes to our worldwide clientele,” Bhuptani said.

In the current hiring landscape, the most sought-after key skills include Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML), Blockchain, DevOps, Frontend Development, Performance Marketing and Backend programming in languages such as  PHP, Laravel and Python. “These skills are highly valued and in demand by employers looking to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving technology and business sectors,” he said while responding to a query regarding what are the key-skills in demand in the current hiring landscape.

Uplers asserts that it ensures that all the talents entering their talent ecosystem undergo a rigorous vetting process. This process encompasses evaluating their communication skills, technical proficiency, behavioral attributes and aptitude. These criteria serve as the initial benchmark for becoming a part of their network. “Once individuals successfully clear these assessments and are integrated into the network, they become an integral part of our system, he said.

In the most recent quarter (July-September 2023), there was a significant trend observed in LinkedIn’s job listings, with a total of 2,468 positions being offered for remote work and global remote employment. This information highlights the increasing need for talent in the global remote job sector. Uplers claims to meet this demand through its pool of skilled tech and digital professionals in India. “We’re building a platform with a focus on talent databases, currently with half a million entries. Our goal is to include 85% of Indian talent. We’re working on AI and ML for better talent-job matchmaking. Once we reach a satisfactory level, we plan to open up for freshers and explore other verticals and skill sets. We’re also focused on creating a strong learning community,” Bhuptani explained.
