GITAM (Deemed to be University), along with the Indian Navy and the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA), have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at supporting the higher education of the children of Indian Navy personnel, according to an official release.

Under the terms of this agreement, GITAM claims to offer subsidised higher education opportunities, including medical education, to four dependents of Indian Navy personnel across its institutions. Furthermore, GITAM claims to actively engage in fostering a culture of innovation and research in advanced combat technologies to bolster the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities, the release mentioned.

Driven by a strong sense of social responsibility, GITAM remains dedicated to advancing the nation through transformative education and pioneering contributions to societal advancement, it added.
