GATE 2018: The notification for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 is out and Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) is all set to conduct the examination in the month of February next year. While the application forms for the exam will be available on the official website in the next two days, candidates need to register themselves on or before March 27, 2018. Interested and eligible students can apply for the same through GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) on the official website at gate.iitg.ac.in as soon as the application link has been activated by the Institute. GATE is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and technology. It is conducted every year for students seeking admission in Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Science, in the institutions supported by the MHRD and other Government agencies, it is mandatory for them to qualify GATE.

GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) Website Opens- September 1, 2017 (Friday)
Last Date for Submission of (Online) Application (through Website)- October 5, 2017 (Thursday)
GATE 2018 Examination- From February 3 to February 11, 2018
Note: The Examination will be conducted in two session. The first session will take place in the forenoon from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, while the other session will take place in the afternoon from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
As per the given dates, candidates can check detailed notification at GATE’s official website – gate.iitg.ac.in. Like every year, candidates will have to first register themselves by submitting their basic details such as name (as per proof certificates), email id and phone number etc. Then they will have to fill the required details in the application form online and complete the registration process by submitting the application fee. Aspirants will also have to upload the required documents. The application fee for female candidates is Rs 750 for SC/ST/PwD category candidates is Rs 750 and for all other candidates, the fee is Rs 1500. For International candidates the fee is $50.
GATE 2018 will be conducted on 23 subjects. Examination for all the 23 subjects will be conducted as online Computer Based Test (CBT).The official website clearly mentions that the candidates have to register and fill the application via ONLINE mode only at GOAPS, while the link will be made available on the official website of GATE.
