Several FIITJEE centers across Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh have unexpectedly closed their doors, sparking confusion and concern among students, parents and faculty members. The closures have affected prominent locations such as Laxmi Nagar in Delhi, Noida Sector 62, as well as cities in Uttar Pradesh including Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow and Varanasi. FIITJEE, known for its specialised preparation programmes for competitive exams like the Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), has been a trusted name in the education sector for years.

The sudden shutdowns have raised significant questions about the institute’s financial stability and the future of the hundreds of students enrolled in these branches, many of whom are at crucial stages of their exam preparation. Parents and students are now grappling with the uncertainty of how to continue their studies as the academic year progresses.

In Ghaziabad, parents whose children were enrolled at one of the affected centers have taken legal action. They filed a First Information Report (FIR) ten days ago, accusing FIITJEE of abruptly halting operations, thereby disrupting the education of numerous students. The complaint also alleges that teachers at the Ghaziabad branch have not been paid their salaries.

FIITJEE crisis: Teachers’ claim salaries not paid for last 5 months

The salary issue is not limited to Ghaziabad alone. Teachers at several other FIITJEE centres in Delhi have reported that they have not received payment for the past five months. “The management hasn’t given us any formal notice or explanation, our salaries have not been credited since the last 5 months. We are as blindsided as the parents and students. We devoted our time and energy to preparing these students for their future and now we are left without jobs or salaries. It’s devastating for everyone involved,” a faculty member told Financialexpress.com, requesting anonymity.

This uncertainty has left many teachers feeling disillusioned, especially as they witness the impact on their students and salaries. “Now, not only are we without jobs, but the students we’ve worked so hard to prepare are left in the lurch,” the faculty member added. “It’s heartbreaking to see their futures jeopardised like this and the lack of transparency from the institute is deeply frustrating. We deserve answers and so do the students and their families.”

As the situation continues to unfold, both students and teachers are left hoping for clarity and resolution. The impact of these unexpected closures is being felt across multiple regions, leaving many wondering what the future holds for this once-reliable educational institution.
