The web portal ‘Apna Chandrayaan’ has been inaugurated by Dharmendra Pradhan, union minister, Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The portal is believed to be a valuable resource for school students, providing them with activity-based support materials like quizzes and puzzles related to ‘Mission Chandrayaan-3’. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) developed this portal under the auspices of the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), which falls under the Ministry of Education, according to an official release.

The web portal features an array of educational resources for students at various levels. The offerings include coloring books, online quizzes, jigsaw puzzles, picture-building activities and captivating graphic novels that narrate the journey of Chandrayaan 3. Specifically designed for foundational and preparatory levels, there are coloring sheets, dot-to-dot exercises and color-coding activities, all intended to foster observation and awareness in students. Additionally, interactive online quizzes are available for students at the preparatory, middle and secondary levels, complete with detailed feedback for their responses, the release mentioned.

Students scoring above 70% will receive digital certificates and the first 1,000 high-scorers will be rewarded with age-appropriate books. Jigsaw puzzles and picture-building exercises are also accessible for students at foundational, preparatory, middle and secondary levels, it added.

Moreover, the web portal offers inspiring stories in the form of graphic novels that recount the key events in ISRO’s journey leading up to Chandrayaan 3. In addition to these resources, the portal has released 10 special modules in multiple languages for stakeholders interested in the success of Chandrayaan 3. These modules aim to inspire Indian youth to explore the realms of science and technology. They aim to provide a comprehensive overview of Chandrayaan 3, covering its scientific, technological and social aspects, as well as delving into the emotional journey and team spirit of the scientists involved, as per the release.

The content is delivered in an interactive and engaging manner, enriched with graphics, photographs, illustrations, activities, and challenging questions. These modules span across all five stages and encompass Classes I-XII of school education. The modules are claimed to be crafted to ensure that the themes are relevant for different educational stages. They include stories, cases, quiz questions, and activities, all designed to encourage self-paced learning among students and to guide teachers in facilitating experiential learning. Furthermore, a digital version of these modules will be available on the NCERT website, the release mentioned.
