The Directorate of Education (DoE) issued new guidelines on Tuesday for implementation of 10 “bagless days” in government and private schools in the national capital. It will focus on students from classes six to eight.
As per the circular, the DoE directed the school heads to adopt these bagless days, developed in consonance with the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020, by the National Council of Educational Research and Training. Its aim is to make the learning experience of students more experiential, joyful, and stress-free.
The policy focuses on activities that maximize the use of school facilities. The Happiness Curriculum and excursion visits can also take place on bagless days.
The students are encouraged to visit historical monuments, cultural sites, craft centers, and tourist destinations in order to appreciate the concepts and traditions as well as preserve their heritage and importance.
