Artha School of Entrepreneurship, a non-profit organisation, partners with Maharashtra State Innovation Society to launch the Maharashtra Startup Acceleration programme, aiming to boost entrepreneurship, scale ventures and enhance economic and social prosperity, according to an official release.

Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS), part of the Government of Maharashtra’s Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, focuses on fostering innovation to reduce economic disparities in the state. Through its ‘Startup Week’ initiative, it claims to have backed approximately 120 startups across various sectors, the release mentioned.

“Entrepreneurs and Innovators will be the drivers of India’s 2047 vision. At Artha, our core belief is that a wider economic and social impact can only be created by enabling and fostering mass entrepreneurship. Therefore, it is our constant endeavour to empower entrepreneurs across sectors and geographies with practical knowledge, mentorship, and support to build and scale their ventures. With the same fundamental principle in mind, we are undertaking this partnership with Maharashtra State Innovation Society,” Suruchi Maitra, co-founder, Artha School of Entrepreneurship, said.

This initiative aims to mentor 25 small and medium-sized enterprises in sectors like Education, Retail, Technology, Entertainment and Robotics to help them scale sustainably. The programme comprises four modules: Organisation and Culture, Founder Growth and Evolution, Funding and Capitalisation and Building a Sustainable Business, it added.

“Maharashtra has played a fundamental role in the startup ecosystem of the country. Maharashtra is among the top-performing states for startups and innovation. Startups in Maharashtra have shown consistent growth over the past few years. Along with Mumbai, cities like Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, and Aurangabad are emerging as hubs for entrepreneurs. We are ecstatic to undertake this partnership with the Artha School of Entrepreneurship to accelerate Maharashtra’s growth trajectory,“ Ramaswami N (IAS), CEO, Maharashtra State Innovation Society, said.
