Woman SPO killed in Shopian: A woman Special Police Officer (SPO) was shot dead by suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.
SPO Khusboo Jan was shot from a close range outside her house in Shopian district’s Vehil village. The woman cop was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a hunt for the assailants.
Tension has been simmering in the Kashmir Valley ever since 40 CRPF men were killed in suicide attack in Pulwama in February. Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammad had claimed responsibility for the dastardly attack.
