The Congress has called for the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah following the devastating Red Fort blast on Monday evening. Senior party leader Pawan Khera also dubbed the Central government a “complete failure” following the recovery of 360 kgs of explosives from Faridabad in Haryana. Khera had recently accused Shah of holding “secret meetings” with officials ahead of the Bihar election results.
“CCTV cameras were turned off in the hotel where Amit Shah was staying. Who is he meeting secretly with? Is he secretly calling officials to hold meetings to win Bihar? Meanwhile, the blast in Delhi took place in Red Fort, and the country’s Home Minister himself is responsible for this security failure. Amit Shah resign,” Assam Congress leader Harmeet Kaur K wrote on X while sharing the video of Khera.
The short video clip posted to X showed the Congress leader wondering if Shah was holding “secret” meetings during his visit. The camera also panned to show the purported hotel CCTV covered in newspaper that was taped to the ceiling.
“Whenever the Home Minister visits Patna, paper is pasted over the CCTV (cameras) in the hotel elevator. The Home Minister is secretly meeting with officials. Security is compromised. What meetings do you hold secretly?” Khera can be heard asking.
Khera also accused the BJP and the Election Commission of India of working together to manipulate votes in Haryana.
“We recieved complaints from our workers that the names of people who have been casting votes for generations, their names were deleted from the voter list. The entire nation saw that SIR was a flop show in Bihar. With the collusion of the Election Commission of India and the BJP, we were not able to form the government in Haryana, and they stole votes,” he said.
