The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted search operations at ten locations across Delhi and Haryana’s Gurugram and Rohtak in connection with a money laundering probe against Rao Inderjeet Yadav, a criminal accused of multiple serious offences who has allegedly fled to the UAE.
During the raids, the agency seized five luxury cars, bank lockers, cash amounting to Rs 17 lakh, along with incriminating documents, digital devices and electronic data linked to Yadav and his associates. The searches are part of an ongoing investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
According to the ED, the case stems from more than 15 FIRs and charge sheets filed by the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh police against Yadav and his network. Yadav reportedly fled India after the murder of a businessman in Rohtak last year.
Who is Rao Inderjeet Yadav
Rao Inderjeet Yadav is the owner and key controller of Gem Records Entertainment Pvt Ltd, which operates as ‘Gems Tunes’. Founded in 2006, the company runs a video-on-demand platform producing and distributing regional content in Haryanvi, Punjabi and Hindi.
Yadav has a significant social media presence, with over 12 lakh followers on Instagram, where he frequently shares photographs with Bollywood celebrities. Investigators, however, allege that behind the public-facing image, Yadav was deeply involved in organised crime.
The ED said Yadav “acted as a strongman and enforcer”, facilitating coercive settlement of high-value private loan transactions and financial disputes worth hundreds of crores.
“These settlements were allegedly executed through threats, intimidation, and use of armed associates of local gangs with the involvement of organised crime syndicates operating from abroad,” the agency said.
“The income so generated by Yadav from these fraudulent ways, running into crores, was allegedly used for the acquisition of immovable properties, luxury cars, and maintaining a luxurious life while declaring minimum income tax returns,” the agency said.

In July this year, he was linked to the firing incident at singer Rahul Fazilpuria’s residence. A month later, Fazilpuria’s aide Rohit Shaukeen was shot dead in Gurugram, with responsibility claimed by Yadav and his associates.
Yadav was also named in connection with the firing at YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s residence and was mentioned in the suicide note of Haryana ASI Sandeep Kumar Lathar in October.
