Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing the party of chronic instability due to internal conflicts, particularly in Haryana, where multiple leaders, including Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son Deepender Hooda, are vying for the chief ministerial position.

Addressing a poll rally in Hisar, Modi said on the party’s leadership crisis, saying it had devolved into a battle between “Bapu” and “Beta,” with both Hooda’s contending for power.

Reflecting on his experiences with the BJP in Haryana, Modi expressed gratitude to the people of the state for playing a significant role in shaping his leadership journey. “Haryana has given me a lot, taught me a lot,” he said, highlighting a popular slogan from the region: “Mahra Haryana, Non-stop Haryana.”

He emphasised that Haryana’s development should continue uninterrupted, and expressed confidence that the people would give the BJP a third term, adding that “Bharosa dil se, BJP phir se” (Trust from the heart, BJP again) is the dominant sentiment.

With Haryana set to go to polls on October 5, Modi said the Congress is already in disarray. Congress leaders are already predicting they will face the same fate in Haryana as they did in Madhya Pradesh, he said, accusing the party of relying on lies in both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

In his sharp criticism, Modi labelled the Congress as the “country’s deceitful and dishonest party” and drew attention to its governance in neighbouring Himachal Pradesh, where, he alleged, the party made promises it has now failed to fulfil.

Where there is Congress, stability can never come, he said. PM Modi stated, “The party that cannot bring unity among its leaders, how will they bring stability to a state?” He added, “During the polls, what lies they spoke, you cannot even imagine, and after coming to power, they are escaping from the promises they made.”

Bapu (Bhupinder Hooda) is also a contender and Beta (Deepender) is also a contender. And together both are engaged in (niptane mein lage hai) settling the others. And seeing all this, aware voters of Haryana are settling (niptane mein lage hai) the Congress,” PM Modi said.
