The Narendra Modi government has announced a campaign for the youth of India by introducing the ‘MY Bharat’ platform on October 31st, which also marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On the latest episode of ‘Mann ki Baat’ on October 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had discussed the ‘MY Bharat’ platform while addressing the nation on radio, where ‘MY’ is an acronym for ‘Mera Yuva’.
According to the PIB report, ‘MY Bharat’ is an initiative that aims to embrace the youth of age between 15 and 29 as “active drivers” of development. The autonomous body will allow youth to take part in government functions that have not been specified yet. PM Modi has urged the youth of India to participate in the initiative with full spirit.
Through the initiative, the government is motivated to develop a better rapport with the youth and reports, “The Mera Yuva Bharat platform will create such a phygital eco-system and empower young individuals to become catalysts for community transformation. They would act as “Yuva Setu,” linking the government with its citizens.”
The official website of ‘MY Bharat,’ mybharat.gov.in, offers a wide range of options for youth to opt for like, Youth events, ‘Experiential Learning’ for college students. One can join the initiative as a youth member to learn about occupational skill development and as a ‘MY Bharat Partner’ to provide opportunities to the youth.
PM Modi also highlighted the success of Khadi production and the spike of the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign that started in 2020. He said, “It means its benefit reaches myriad sections across cities and villages, benefiting our weavers, handicraft artisans, farmers, and cottage industries engaged in growing Ayurvedic plants. Everyone is getting the benefit of this sale, and this is the strength of the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign.”
