The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that dense fog weather conditions are likely to prevail in specific regions of North India over the coming days. East Uttar Pradesh is expected to have dense fog in isolated pockets during the early morning of November 22. Similarly dense fog is expected to prevail in Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana. Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience it on November 23 and November 26. The IMD has also predicted rainfall for southern regions.

IMD prediction for rainfall in Southern India

Light to average downpours accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning are expected to take place in Puducherry, Karaikal, and Puducherry on November 25. Kerala and Mahe are also expected to witness it on the same day. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are anticipated to receive moderate rainfall for this week.

Isolated showers might occur in the northeastern states like Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, and Mizoram on November 22. The Met Department has also forecast heavy showers in Southern Tamil Nadu from November 25 to 27 and over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on November 26 and 27. Likewise, the Nicobar Islands will experience it from November 22 to November 24. Isolated hailstorm activity is likely to occur in Meghalaya on November 22.

Delhi Air Quality Update

The national capital’s air quality remains a serious concern. On Friday, the AQI continued to be under the ”very poor” category. On Thursday, the AQI showed improvement to 371 from 419, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Despite some improvement, Delhi continues to be in the second slot as the most polluted city after Hajipur, Bihar with an AQI of 403. The city experienced smog and shallow fog during the morning hours and is expected to witness it in the evening too.
