As India transitions into autumn, weather patterns remain diverse across regions, influenced by monsoon withdrawal in the south and seasonal changes in the north and northeast. Here’s a breakdown of today’s weather conditions.

Today Delhi experienced a warm start with temperatures around 27°C, expected to rise to a sweltering 37°C. Humidity remains moderate, providing some relief. The capital’s air quality is currently moderate but could worsen as the season shifts toward winter, traditionally bringing increased pollution levels.

Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 37°C on Thursday (October 3), which is three degrees above the seasonal average. Meanwhile, the IMD has forecast heavy rainfall in several regions.

In Uttarakhand, the day began cooler at 16°C, with temperatures forecasted to peak at 27°C. Residents of nearby Himachal Pradesh also experienced mild morning conditions, with temperatures around 14.5°C. Both states are seeing pleasant weather, ideal for outdoor activities. Further north, Jammu & Kashmir witnessed a cold start, with some higher-altitude areas dropping to -5°C.

Pune enjoyed a pleasant morning with temperatures around 27°C, expected to rise to 31°C later in the day. Despite 68% humidity, skies remain clear. Other areas in western India, like Gurugram and Noida, are also experiencing warm starts with similar temperature patterns, which will peak in the mid-30s by afternoon.

Rain alerts in Eastern and Northeastern India

States like Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and nearby regions are under alert for heavy rainfall over the next 5-6 days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of potential flooding and landslides in these areas due to intense and prolonged downpours.

Southern India: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Mahe are also expected to experience enhanced rainfall activity. This is likely due to post-monsoon weather systems still impacting the region, with some areas bracing for possible flash floods.

Western Coast: Parts of Goa and the Konkan region in Maharashtra are seeing isolated rainstorms, though these are less severe compared to the southern states
