The India Meteorological Department has warned that heavy downpours would occur at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Lakshadweep. Thunderstorms along with lightning are expected to take place in Goa, East Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Tamil Nadu, Karaikal, Mahe, and Puducherry from 28 October to 30 October. The IMD has also warned that there will be moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep for this whole week. A similar weather pattern is likely to prevail for the same duration in Jammu-Kashmir, Muzaffarbad, Gilgit and Ladakh.
Cyclone Dana Update
More than 50,000 homes have been affected in the cyclone-hit areas of Balasore, Bhadrak, and Kendrapara districts of Odisha are yet to get back the power supply in their areas. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated. The CM mentioned that the restoration work is in the final stage and roads have been cleared from the obstacles.
More than 8 lakh people have been rescued and have been shifted to 6,210 shelter centres. Several rivers have swelled because of cyclone Dana which resulted in heavy showers, especially in the Bhadrak district. About 24 people have been rescued from the flooded region.
Delhi Weather Update
The Met Department has notified that Delhi is likely to have a clear sky on Monday. The minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to be about 20 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius. The national capital’s air quality was again back in the ‘very poor’ category. As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded to climb to 355 by 4 pm on Sunday. Intense pollution levels were marked in areas like Burari, Bawana, and Jahangirpuri. Similarly, air quality was recorded as ‘very poor’ in Noida, Faridabad, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad.
