A couple in Bengaluru found a live cobra snake in a package they had received from Amazon on Sunday. The couple, who are both software professionals, ordered an Xbox controller and upon receiving the package they were shocked to find a spectacled snake inside it. Fortunaely, the poisonous snake was trapped by packing tape and was unable to run loose.
“Ordered an Xbox controller from @amazonIN and received a free snake with it!,” the customer named Tanvi posted on her social media handle via X, formerly Twitter.

To this, Amazon replied, “We’re sorry to know about the inconvenience you’ve had with the Amazon order. We’d like to have this checked. Please share the required details here: https://amzn.to/3RvxarV, and our team will get back to you soon with an update.”
As per the media reports, the couple ordered the controller two days ago from Amazon and received a live snake in the package. They claimed that the package was directly handed over to them by the delivery partner and was not left outside. The couple captured the entire incident on camera and said that they also have eyewitnesses of the incident.
While the couple received a full refund, they said it was not enough. “What do we get for risking our lives here with a highly venomous snake? This is clearly a safety breach caused solely by Amazon’s negligence and their poor transportation/warehousing hygiene and supervision. Where is the accountability for such a serious lapse in safety?” the customer was quoted as saying by India Today.
