A 13-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Farukkhabad has become pregnant after she was allegedly raped by peon of government school, police stated on Saturday. The police have registered an FIR against a council school peon and his associate, who allegedly assisted him during the incident a few months ago.
According to a police official, the family of the 13-year-old girl has filed a case against the accused. The complaint alleges that the girl was attacked while going to defecate at night. Pankaj and Amit from the village allegedly caught her and took her to an empty house, where Amit raped her while Pankaj stood guard outside.
“The accused raped the girl by stuffing a cloth in her mouth. They also threatened to kill her if she reported the incident. The matter came to light when the girl became five months pregnant, her mother reported the incident to the local police,” as per the official.
The police have filed an FIR against the accused on charges of rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Pankaj, one of the accused, is a peon at a council school and obtained his position as a dependent of a deceased employee.
Kayamganj Kotwali in-charge Inspector Ram Avatar reported that an initial medical examination of the girl has been completed. No arrests have been made yet, but the police anticipate that arrests will occur soon.
