The Rashtriya Janata Dal levelled fresh allegations of vote theft on Wednesday night — contending that a “truck loaded with EVMs” had tried to sneak into a counting centre. Party workers had also gathered outside the premises to protest and demand clarification from the Election Commission of India. The remarks echoed similar claims made by other Opposition parties including the Congress and AAP ahead of the Bihar election counting on Friday. Rohtas District Magistrate and district election officer Udita Singh later clarified that the containers within the vehicle had been empty.

“Why was a truck allegedly loaded with EVMs sneaked into the counting center in Sasaram (Rohtas district) by the district administration without any prior notice or transparency? Why were the truck drivers chased away without bringing them forward? Why was the CCTV camera feed here switched off from 2 PM? Release the full footage! Let the administration tell what is in the truck!” the RJD wrote in Hindi on X.

“After receiving information about this incident, the truck was inspected at the entrance of the counting center located at Takiya Bazar Samiti, Sasaram. This inspection was conducted in front of the candidates and their supporters present there. The entire inspection process was also videotaped. The steel containers were found to be completely empty, and no EVMs were found inside. Therefore, the claim of a ‘trunk full of EVMs’ is false,” came the statement from DM Rohtas.

AAP says ’80 lakh votes stolen in Bihar’

Senior party leader Sanjay Singh levelled allegations of large-scale electoral malpractice in the Bihar Assembly elections on Thursday — claiming that nearly 80 lakh votes were “stolen” and accused the BJP of orchestrating the fraud. Singh asserted that the alleged manipulation of votes would have a significant bearing on the outcome of the elections.

“We’ll have to wait for the results on November 14. I’ve been saying one thing clearly that the vote theft will have a profound impact on this election. It’s undeniable that 80 lakh votes were stolen in Bihar. 80 lakh voters were deprived of their right to vote,” Singh said.

He further alleged that fraudulent forms were submitted in the names of deceased individuals and those who never appeared in person, terming it a “scam” involving the Election Commission and BJP leaders.

“We saw how, before the election, forms were being submitted with the signatures of dead people. Forms were being submitted with the signatures of people who didn’t even appear. This is how the scam has come to light, and Gyanesh Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the entire BJP are involved in it,” the AAP MP claimed.
