A big development has sent shock waves across Thripunithura. The news that has startled everyone is that a gang of three, who had broken into a house and looted more than 50 sovereigns of gold, has been nabbed from Delhi! So, are you wondering how this happened? According to Mathrubhumi News report, it is a joint operation by Kerala and Delhi police that accomplished this feat. Reports say that about half of the gold ornaments that the gang had looted were also recovered. It has also been reported that one of the accused in the case is a Myanmar native. The robbery in a house in Thripunithura took place during the early hours on December 16. A ten-member gang had entered the house that is located close to the famous Hill Palace. They broke the front door of the house first. On entering the house that belonged to Anand Kumar, the gang tied up the family members, looted over 50 sovereigns of gold, three mobile phones as well as credit cards and cash worth Rs 20,000. The owner, Anand Kumar, suffered severe head injuries while trying to resist the robbers. He and his family were at the house when this incident took place.

The police, according to Mathrubhumi’s report, have cited Arshad as the mastermind behind the robbery and he was arrested from his residence at Housing Colony in Dilshad Garden on Tuesday night after a tip-off from the Delhi police. Once they were able to nab him, they got more details about the other two accused and were able to nab them in connection with this case.
