At least three people were killed and 14 others were injured on Saturday when a bus carrying around 20 pilgrims collided with a parked truck from behind in Mayurbhanj district, Odisha, police reported. The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 AM on National Highway 18 near Budikhmari Square. According to a senior officer, the bus was making its way from Hyderabad to Gaya when it collided with a commercial vehicle. 

The deceased included Uday Singh, the bus driver hailing from the Charminar area of Hyderabad. Tragically, several passengers sustained injuries in the collision and were swiftly transported to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada for treatment.

Additional District Medical Officer Bijay Kumar Das confirmed that the bus driver, Uday Singh, tragically passed away at the scene of the accident. Two other individuals succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the medical college. Currently, fourteen injured individuals are receiving medical care at Medical College and Hospital in Baripada. The driver reportedly fled the scene following the collision.
