A 33-year-old software engineer from Bengaluru, Anand GR, lost his life late Wednesday night after a tragic motorbike accident was followed by a fatal delay in ambulance transport. Anand, a resident of Varthur and employee at a Manyata Tech Park-based company, was riding near Yelahanka around 10:20 pm with pillion rider Jeevan when he lost control of his bike, according to reports from TOI.
Details of accident
- Anand lost control of his motorbike late Wednesday night.
- The bike crashed into a roadside RMU (ring main unit) box installed by Bescom.
- Both he and his pillion rider, Jeevan, were hurt, but Anand sustained critical head injuries and fell unconscious.
Police said Jeevan informed them that the RMU box was hit directly on impact, leaving Anand critically hurt.
Ambulance Delay Costs Life
Anand was immediately shifted to an ambulance, but tragedy struck again before he could reach medical care.
“However, the upper portion of the ambulance got stuck under the magic box in Judicial Layout. After trying to move the vehicle for around 10 minutes, Jeevan flagged down a car which was passing by and took Anand to Yelahanka govt hospital. But he was dead by then,” police said.
The nearly ten-minute delay proved fatal, leaving no time for doctors to revive him.
