A horrific murder case has sent shockwaves through Venkateswara Colony under the Meerpet Police Station limits in Rangareddy district, Telangana. Authorities revealed to ANI that a man allegedly murdered his wife, mutilated her body, and boiled some parts in a cooker before disposing of other parts in a nearby lake. The Meerpet police have registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation into the chilling crime.

Husband’s Confession to the Crime

The case came to light after a missing person’s report was filed on January 17 by the victim’s mother. In her complaint, she mentioned that her daughter, Madhavi, had been married to Gurumurthy for the last 13 years and was untraceable. Gurumurthy, a retired army employee currently working as a security guard, admitted to the police that he killed his wife during an argument. He confessed to using a knife to commit the crime, cutting her body into pieces, and disposing of the remains in a lake.

LB Nagar DCP told ANI, ”The husband confessed to killing his wife, but we are still probing the case. The death has not been officially confirmed, and we are working to find out the truth.” Police have intensified their investigation to verify the accused’s claims and locate the victim’s body.

Investigation Underway

Inspector Nagaraju of Meerpet Police Station shared more details on the case, explaining that Madhavi and Gurumurthy had been residing in Venkateswara Colony along with their two children for the past five years. The couple argued on January 16, after which Madhavi left the house and went missing. Her mother, Subamma, approached the police on January 18 to lodge a missing complaint.

Investigators are now piecing together the sequence of events and collecting evidence. Efforts are ongoing to trace Madhavi’s remains and to identify the exact circumstances that led to this heinous crime.
